Our path of prayer

Five steps of holiness
and healing

We gather in the name of Jesus and begin with consecration to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, prayer to the Holy Spirit and a hymn. The evening then follows a gentle five-step path that helps us open our lives to God’s love and His Word.

1

Renunciation

In quiet examination before Jesus, we acknowledge our weakness and renounce the sin and harmful patterns that separate us from God and His love.

2

Entrusting and surrender

We place our worries, difficulties and burdens into the hands of Jesus. These may be offered aloud or silently, without discussion or comment.

At the heart of the gathering

Sunday Scripture

We listen to the readings for the coming Sunday, read them again in silence and notice the sentence that touches us. Those who wish may share the words that spoke to their heart while the group listens prayerfully.

3

Prayer

We bring the needs of the Church, the world and those we love before God, responding together in faith and entrusting every intention to His holy will.

4

Thanksgiving and praise

We recognise God’s gifts and the ways He is working in our lives. With gratitude, we give thanks and glory to the Lord.

5

Blessing

We ask God’s blessing upon our families, communities and the world, so that we may become a blessing to everyone God sends to us.
